1999

1999

This bop (because apparently that’s what the kids call it these days) is a little too pop music for me but the video clip is so much fun, ah the nostalgia! I watched this with my Tween Queen and Tiny Empress and I might have screamed ‘I had that phone’ at one stage. There’s a lot of references for us oldies, funny though that the song is by a 26 year old who would have been 7, and a 23 year old who would have been 4 at the time but I guess 1999 just looked and sounded better than a relevant year for them.

  1. That was fun! Very well done production, and their impersonations were spot-on. Lol – I still have my G-Shock watch (in black).

It seems like every 10 years or so a song pining for a previous era comes along and is a big hit. My own favorite is Bowling For Soup’s “1985”, probably because I often feel like the woman described in the lyrics. “When did Ozzy become an actor…?” Lol! 🙂

I was never cool enough for a G-Shock! I have so much watch envy!

You often feel like the woman described in that ‘only been with one man’ way? I kid! And ‘When did Motley Crue become classic rock?’ is still a relevant question!

  2. Not sure if you ever come back here any more, but if you do I want to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas. All the best!

I check in from time to time, but the cobwebs are pretty bad now, pretty sure a mini Aragog has moved in! But I risked it for you (I threw a small rodent towards the shadows)! Hope you and NewWifey had an amazing christmas, I miss the food porn though the watch is a pretty nice replacement. And the tshirt is genius! Thanks for thinking of me at this trying time (thank god it’s over! There wasn’t enough wine! Is there ever?) and I look forward to more posts from you in the new year, from the funny to the touching and maybe even some where you get touched! 🙂
