GloPoWriMo Day 13

GloPoWriMo Day 13

I met a demon once
he was a devil in disguise
I really should have known
by the fire in his eyes

He took my hand you understand
the epitome of charm
with a wicked kiss and a granted wish
he silenced my alarm

too late I recognised
the trouble I was in
as we sealed our deal it seemed unreal
but I could feel a change within

they say it’s better the devil you know
but it’s better the devil you don’t
he doesn’t know the things you’ve done
what you will and what you wont

take a lesson from my story
when a devil smiles at you
be super shy, just say goodbye
au revoir, adiós, adieu!

Today, we challenge you to write a poem in which the words or meaning of a familiar phrase get up-ended. For example, if you chose the phrase “A stitch in time saves nine,” you might reverse that into something like: “a broken thread; I’m late, so many lost.”

I’m like a duck, I look like I’m floating serenely along but in reality I’m paddling like crazy under the water lol
