Did you know that Lewis Carroll did not have an answer for his conundrum when he wrote it in 1865
“Why is a raven like a writing-desk?”
It wasn’t until 1897 that an answer was published. It is as follows:
“Because it can produce a few notes, though they are very flat; and it is nevar put with the wrong end in front!”
Also, his answer was incorrectly edited from ‘nevar’ to ‘never’, the spellchecker of the time not realising how clever Mr Carroll was being since nevar is raven ‘with the wrong end in front’.
I am not as clever as that, so I offer you this puny riddle:
Q: What is brown and sticky?
A: A stick
And here’s one for you to solve for yourself:
Q: What four-letter word ending in K means “intercourse”?
