Blogger Recognition Award

Blogger Recognition Award

bloggeraward
Wow, I can’t believe it! First I’d like to thank the academy …. oh wait! Wrong award. The irrepressible Sascha Darlington was audacious enough to nominate moi for the Blogger Recognition Award!

Now what?

What are the rules for the Blogger Recognition Award?

For all the nominees, here are the rules if you choose to accept:

  1. Write a post to show your award
  2. Give a brief story of how your blog started
  3. Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers
  4. Thank whoever nominated you, and provide a link to their blog
  5. Select 5 other blogs you want to give the award to

Okay, I’ve totally got this!

  1. Write a post to show your award.
“They’re looking at it babe, job done!”
Thanks Alex, that’s what I was going to say
  2. Give a brief story of how your blog started
My WIP had become more W than P. I needed a break away from the story and I craved interaction with other writers. Brief enough?
  3.  Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers
I feel vastly unqualified for this, but here goes:
First, be kind. If you like something, like it, make a comment, get involved.
Second, be brave. Write what you want, take a chance, don’t stifle your inner voice. I am constantly (pleasantly) surprised that my ramblings are appreciated by anyone other than me! (Side note: I am not alone in my weirdness, yay!)
  4.  As already mentioned, this post wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for Sascha Darlington’s Microcosm Explored. I enjoy Sascha’s writing immensely, she can be poignant or funny and she writes great book reviews too. Thanks Sascha!!
  5. Select 5 other blogs you want to give the award to
    In no particular order…
    1. The Quintessential Editor – Corey gives great writing tips with a side of humour
    2. Ms Skyfall I love her ‘Crushing Saga’, I’m a sucker for an angsty love story
    3.  Twisted Roads of Madness Matthew writes scary stuff which I don’t really like but I can’t seem to stop reading it
    4. Travel Much? No I don’t! So a blog like this is gold to me! Funny, educational, delicious (that pork loin recipe!!) get it all here
    5. The 15th Day – The first post I read from this blog concerned the misspelling of the bloggers name. Roger. Easy right? He’s had rojer; rojah; raahger and Roge :). If you like a bit of humour amid some serious stuff, Roger could be your guy!

Okay, I know Sascha’s original post said to nominate 15 but I used my writer’s prerogative to change that to a 5 (plus I have seen it listed as 5 elsewhere and it’s a much more manageable number!), so there you have it!
